The book takes what society often dismisses as clichés, routine settings, or ordinary social tropes—the "common places" of daily life—and reframes them. Instead of treating them as tired formulas, Almada presents these elements as indelible marks of the human condition. Through sharp prose and keen psychological insight, the stories delve into the quiet conflicts, unspoken tensions, and intimate realities that characterize ordinary existence, mapping out the emotional geography of everyday human connection and routine.
