This book compiles 15 nostalgic essays written by Spanish exiles (1946–1956) for the magazine Las Españas, published in Mexico. Each piece evokes a personal memory of a Spanish city or region—Madrid, Málaga, Soria, the Canary Islands, etc.—as a way to preserve identity and resist cultural erasure during exile.
The autor provides an introduction with historical context and biographies of the authors. The work highlights the emotional and political power of memory, using personal stories to reconstruct a symbolic homeland from afar.
