It contains 399 essays and journalistic articles by Rosario Castellanos, rescued, with a prologue and compiled by Andrea H. Reyes—they first appeared under the Conaculta label between 2004 and 2007 in three volumes. Now, the FCE, in conjunction with the Center for Gender Research and Studies of the UNAM, is republishing the entire text in two books, giving it a new division: the first part with writings that detail her university years in 1947 up to those that denounce the Tlatelolco massacre in 1968—as it includes the journalistic essays from that year and those published until January 1969 in which Castellanos responded directly to the atrocious crime—and the second part, which covers the period from 1969 until her accidental death in 1974.
