Jorge Cuesta (1903-1942) has aroused the interest of many scholars of Mexican literature, both for his poetry, his positions and the legend that seems to surround him. This book is based on one of the few investigations carried out from the perspective of history –recognized at the 2018 INAH Awards– and thus offers a critical but complementary view of what is currently stipulated about the Cordoban writer. Based on a rigorous study of his prose and removed from mythology, the years, trends, references, themes, interlocutors, media and contexts of his publications are analyzed. The reader will find a work that provides an interpretation of the political thought of one of the most important Mexican polemicists of the 20th century. The work allows for a more complex understanding of the intellectual history of the 1930s and the construction of the figure of the intellectual in Mexican society.
