How can we account for the African presence in Argentina when it comes from multiple origins, is inserted in different historical dynamics, responds to heterogeneous forms of classification of raciality and interacts socially and politically through various groupings? This book is presented as a contribution to the knowledge of both the Afro-descendant population and past and recent African immigrants. Through a compilation of various works by researchers specializing in different disciplines with an ethnographic approach, the book investigates various issues that it does not intend to unify, but rather to put into dialogue and perspective. Thus, issues of leadership, associationism, political activism, construction of memories, racialities, migration policies are addressed, while at the same time academic research trajectories are covered and theoretical-methodological discussions are raised. Therefore, this book aims to contribute to the knowledge of an area that still requires study from academic research with the intention that this knowledge can constitute itself as input for the discussion of public policies of recognition and inclusion.
