“Esclavitudes Ibéricas” is a study on the differences between the Atlantic and Mediterranean slave trades. The work particularly explores how the Iberian Peninsula was a crossroads of sub-Saharan slaves, who were inhabitants of North Africa; Moriscos from the Kingdom of Granada captured and sold these slaves during their rebellion (1568-1570) as “good warriors.” Through the texts, author Bernard Vincent approaches these hitherto disconnected universes in a dialogic manner and, at the same time, takes a step forward toward a social history that is attentive to all the nuances of this important subject.
