This collective book seeks to insert itself into the discussions and rethinkings that emerged between 2019 and 2021 around the processes of conquest and the subsequent Iberian overseas worlds. Specifically from the maritime perspective and especially from that of the Pacific, the work seeks to highlight the relevance that said ocean has had for Latin American societies, as well as its articulating role between those territories, the relations that were established from them with the Philippines, the confrontations or maritime and coastal confrontations that occurred there throughout the modern era and reconfigured their commercial networks. The above is done from the perspective of the American world to understand the ways in which coastal settlements were inserted into the global networks to which the Pacific allowed them to connect.
