“Cacofonías desesperadas” is a study on the consequences of cross-border migration policies. This book was written in the context of the Covid-19 health contingency that paralyzed the world and, along with it, global migration. The work also explore how the loss of Donald Trump’s presidency in 2020 represented the breaking point of an exclusionary narrative towards immigrant and migrant populations, marking the end (or at least a reduction) in the retrograde, hostile, fictitious, obsessive and aggressive discourse that turned out to be a desperate cacophony. However, as the work shows, the multiple laws and legal processes that criminalize, divide and exclude the rights of migrants are still present.
