Rita Segato is Argentine, an anthropologist and obtained her PhD from the Department of Social Anthropology at Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is currently Professor Emerita at the University of Brasilia, holder of the Rita Segato Chair of Uncomfortable Thinking at the National University of San Martín and head of the Aníbal Quijano Chair at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. He also teaches the virtual seminar “Race, gender and rights from the perspective of coloniality”, at CLACSO, and participates in the Coordination of the Specialization Course in Afro-Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
