"Ecobarrios en América Latina" recognizes and exposes the eco-neighborhood movement as a series of community alternatives capable of contributing to the transitional processes towards urban sustainability. In accordance with the above, the text allows the reader to know the considerations prior to the concept of eco-neighborhood. As well as the influence of the u201cecoaldeasu201d on it. After these initial considerations, the work directs its efforts to explain: the origins; the current situation and the urban, community, and public policy contributions, among others, made by the eco-neighborhood program in Bogotá and in other Colombian cities.
