"Fascismo de Ultramar" rescues the forgotten history of those who sided with the uprising in Spain and organized the Spanish fascist movement - Falangism - in Argentina and Uruguay, but also of the resistance of some conservative elites who fought not to cede their influence and assumption. Through a prosopography of the leaders of the uprising between the Spanish colony in the Río de la Plata and the analysis of unpublished documentation, the author reconstructs the real importance of some organizations and a movement that were far from being anecdotal, as well as their internal dynamics, their internal struggles and some of the reasons that led them to be forgotten by historiography.
