"Comunicación Audiovisual Indígena Originaria" examines the political dimension of video production and distribution as a means by which native indigenous organizations articulate new demands on national politics in Bolivia, a country that recently experienced one of the most notable cases of social mobilization and constitutional transformation. with indigenous participation in Latin America. Based on ethnographic work carried out between 2005 and 2007, the author details how indigenous audiovisual production has been instrumental in thinking, disseminating and discussing indigenous demands, at the local level, for the Constituent Assembly and imagining future scenarios for indigenous peoples in views of a plurinational state project. Her current research project compares the production and circulation of photographic and audiovisual images related to indigenous peoples in two different national and historical contexts in Mexico and Bolivia. She is the co-author, with Deborah Poole, of "Face in Profile. Racial Portraits of Frederick Starr" (2012). Her academic work includes photography curatorial activities and photography and video projects.
