Sometimes reissues seem to notify us of the passage of time. What survived from the first reading we had of this or that author, how many poems can we remember, how many verses, even? How many names continue to remind us, metonymically, of what we lightly call generation? Those of us who started late evoke those names -those works- with a special spirit, since they also shaped us, despite the fact that our ages are only a few years apart and, in some cases, we even look older than them. What aspiring poet does not read or try to read everything that is written and promoted under the banner of young poetry? Of all the reasons that may exist for these approaches, the most important, the most important, is to compare our first attempts with works already published, tangible, venal, to use a more precise term. How many names come to mind? Herbozo, Podestá, Vélez, Sordómez, Ruiz Velazco, Lazarte, some still active, others immersed in a silence that could be voluntary or perhaps imposed by life circumstances. And it is that poetry is usually a thing of youth.
