Two are the central themes of this wounded letter notebook: writing and reading. A writer is, first of all, a reader. From this perspective, I can affirm that reading is a solitary and unpunished vice —as Valery Larbaud said— that I have enjoyed since I can remember and that has given me unique pleasures. These notes are a faithful testimony of my adventures as a reader, an activity that has not only discovered unsuspected territories for me, but has also contributed to enriching my modest existence. Because, after all, when one reads, he assumes, albeit vicariously, a variety of roles and behaviors that are foreign to him in his daily life, restricted by the limitations inherent in the human condition.
