Starting in 2008, with the so-called war against organized crime in Mexico, violence and the operating practices of organized crime began to take increasingly complex and acute forms, reconfiguring the social dynamics of the country, including that related to human mobility. During the last decades, internal forced displacement has taken on a relevant role within the migratory dynamics of Mexico, and although it is becoming more visible and profound, the intervention of the State has remained self-absorbed, without achieving respond to the recognition, attention and protection of the phenomenon. In this sense, the objective of this chapter is to analyze the elements that have arisen from public action to address forced internal displacement in Mexico. The methodological strategy that has been developed was that of the selection of primary sources arising from public action, such as: reports and memories of discussion forums, hemerography, database of the Legislative Information System of the Ministry of the Interior, in order to to be able to have the general panorama that involves the phenomenon of forced displacement. Within the analytical framework, a review and breakdown of specific actions and events that positioned the issue on the public agenda was developed, evidencing how it has come to influence the legislative and governmental agenda. Among the contributions of this chapter is the presentation of progress and pending in the legislative and governmental agenda, as well as recommendations regarding attention to the phenomenon in Mexico.
