The study proposes a characterization of the narratives of history that can be inferred from the corpus. The study is organized into seven chapters. The first contains a synthetic historical-conceptual framework on the historical novel as a literary genre. Between the second and sixth chapters, the analyzes of the five novels are developed, in an order that finds its justification in the work: El signo del pez (1987), Los cortejos del diablo. Ballad of the times of witches (1970), The weaver of crowns (1982), Symphony from the New World (1990) and The eyes of the basilisk (1992). In the last chapter, a series of propositions that emerge from the observation of the relationships that fiction maintains with history is presented as a synthesis.
