We are in 1997. Argentina is presided over by a double of Admiral Massera who, from his shopping center, pulls the strings of power. Tasked with anticipating any change in public opinion, the Symbol Police enlist out-of-work telepaths, shaven-headed precognitors, and unscrupulous psychoanalysts to dig into their brains for possible but not probable futures.

The climate has become even more rarefied due to the sudden appearance of terrorist groups, such as the Krishna Warriors or consumers, and the cult of Father Satanowsky, a sinister television prophet who disputes power by radiating black magic to invoke the spirits of Aleister Crowley and Timothy Leary.
The precarious social balance explodes when Killing —and his faithful Dana— burst onto the political scene with gunshots, unleashing the bloody Christmas massacre at the Almirante Massera Shopping Center. But Killing is also a fictional character invented by Kimo, a peaceful and troubled writer who suffers from intense self-loathing for inspiring the cannibalistic killer who usurped the creature's personality from him.

In this rarefied climate of the end of the century, the adventures of Killing take place, a psychopath identified with a comic book character, who will be captured and transformed into a holographic video game controlled by the brain of an ex-guerrilla fighter in cryonic suspension. Once transformed into virtual reality, Killing will have to face the "real" Admiral Massera, who awaits him in the Telemuñecos Sanctuary to start a fight that will never end.
