This book analyzes different ways of organization, composition and execution of carnival festivities in indigenous communities. In the multicultural context of the state of Oaxaca, various expressions of community organization and collective work make carnival festivities possible. With information from nine localities, similarities and differences between community carnivals are exposed here.
