Cities are spaces in transformation, conflicts and constant disputes. In recent decades, one of the main problems experienced in them is that of gentrification, a process in which capital investments transform the urban space, in such a way that it is adapted to attract wealthier inhabitants, gradually supplanting the who have previously inhabited it. How do the ancient settlers live this future? This book responds ethnographically to this question, situated in the process of transformation that is being experienced in the Historic Center of Mexico City and focused on the experience of residents and ex-neighbors of the place belonging to the popular sectors.
