Origial Title: Translating the Queer: Body Politics and Transnational Conversations
Translated by Sonia Verjovsky Paul, London, Zed Press, 2016.
The central argument of "Latinoamérica Queer" is that Latin American queer studies have taken on the challenge of crossing cultural barriers and translation difficulties, opening a space for a transnational intellectual community, which starts from the analysis of pre-gay identities, LGBTI politics, multiculturalism and the use of queer theory to understand cultural and political expressions that conceive of the body beyond sexuality and gender.
