"Historia Mínima de las Izquierdas en México" is made up of their organizations, their men and women, as well as their programs and ideologies. In the text both dimensions of Mexican history are intertwined. Not one or two, but various organizational and programmatic traditions converge in the history of the left, always called in the plural, a plurality that is rebuilt in these pages without being tied to the paradigms of Leninism and its epigones. Two great determinations have marked the fate of the left: geopolitics, always forgotten by commentators and historians, and the Mexican Revolution, almost always diminished and misinterpreted by historians of the left. This work poses a problematic tie, full of edges and partial solutions, sometimes paradoxical, between these two determinations that structure the history of modern Mexico.
