"La Movilidad y la Violencia Contra las Mujeres en los Espacios Públicos de la Ciudad de México" is a collective effort to offer a diagnosis of the risks of being victims of violence faced by women when traveling daily in a metropolis like Mexico City. The book is relevant to the current debate on the urgency of implementing public policies that contribute to eradicating the systematic violence present in public spaces and particularly in transport, as well as to examine the challenges that women face in accessing public space in a safe and equitable, from leaving home to reaching the desired destination.
This work offers an overview of the mobility situation of women and includes statistical data regarding risk areas in public space; explores the perceptions and testimonies of the users themselves regarding the causes of violence and specific situations and, finally, offers guidance regarding the actions that public policies can address in order to guarantee women's access to a free life of violence.
