"El dolor de Acteal" is a study on and tribute to the 45 indigenous people who were massacred in Chiapas in 1997 during a Roman Catholic prayer meeting. The group, which included a number of children and pregnant women, were members of the pacifist group Las Abejas. The work explores the political climate in which the attack precipitated, and the actions that took place in the subsequent years.
