"Paris contra el pueblo: La gentrificación de la capital" is a translation from French to Spanish of the original 2013 title "Paris sans le peuple. La gentrifaction de la capitale", which traced the process of gentrification in Paris through a historical account through the analysis of three neighborhoods that are in the midst of this process. Author Anne Clerval theorizes that this phenomenon is the result of the de-industrialization of dominant countries, the emergence of new forms of work that attract new inhabitants to urban centers, privatization and more. The sum of these factors has led to a kind of social violence, which is manifested in the displacement of the middle classes from these areas.
