"La escritora, pensamiento y obra" is an anthology of Ecuadorian journalist, human rights activist and feminist Zolia Ugarte de Landívar's published articles and writings from the column "La Prensa", which were written daily between June 8th, 1910 and November 14th, 1911. Landívar played a pivitol role in woman's suffrage in Ecuador. The selection also contains articles on feminism, mini-biographies and obituaries, as well as commentary and testimony on the political, social, and cultural tensions of the time period.
