México, D.F: Taller Ditoria, CONACULTA, 2015. Second Edition. Paperback. [212p]., wrps. new. Item #58426
This edition is the second version of the unpublished book "Poesías", a work with visual and written poetry by writer, performance artist, book/mail artist and collector Ulises Carrión (b. México 1941- d. Amsterdam 1989). The original work was a typed manuscript, and punctuation signs were added manually later. Carrión belonged to a generation of 20th-century writers that distrusted language, changing the traditional form of books, specifically their tactile, visual and intellectual elements, using text and paper as innovative media for their artistic expressions. He is considered the inventor of the contemporary Artist Book, a concept he created when he began to favor the expressive faculty of structure over the meaning of words.
