Any researcher who has shown interest in entering the study of modern oral tradition literature of Mexico, may have noticed the lack of a systematic collection and study work in this field at a national level and from a literary perspective. The works and individual efforts of some researchers showed the need for a reflection and a more joint work that joining efforts, criteria, collection work and orderly and current research. With that purpose we met several researchers in a colloquium, where they discussed about the criteria for the collection, edition, classification of narrative genres traditions of Mexico; from romance and the corrido to the legend and the story.
