Octavio Irineo Paz Lozano was a Mexican poet, essayist and diplomat. He won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1990 and the Cervantes Prize in 1981. He is considered one of the most influential writers of the twentieth century and one of the great Spanish poets of all time.
