"Trans* : Diversidad de identidades y roles de género" is an exhibition curated by Andrés Gutiérrez Usillos that seeks to demonstrate the permanent presence of transgender people in cultures around the world, as well as their traditional inclusion in society, through paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, clothing and other materials. A revision of the discourse that reinforces the heteronormative and patriarchal aspects of society is also proposed, in order to showcase other ways of understanding gender beyond the binary classifications of masculine and feminine. The exhibition includes works from the collections of the Museum of America, National Prado Museum, Queen Sofia Art Center, National Museum of Anthropology, National Archaeological Museum, Cerralbo Museum, National Sculpture Museum of Valladolid, Museum of Fine Arts Arts of La Coruña, National Library, National Historical Archive, and other private collections such as the Kutxa Collection, Caylus Antiquarian collection, and the generous participation of numerous contemporary photographers such as Álvaro Laiz, Jill Peters, Diego Verges, Rodrigo Villalón, Mar Sáez and Gabriel Pineda.
